SUNPRINTS
Sunprints were traditionally used to capture botanical forms using photo-sensitive ink. For this series, I have flipped that script starting with drawings of constructed environments on acetate. These constructed environments are details that captured my attention during travel and are often abandoned, waiting for nature to reclaim them. The sun then acts as my developer to transfer these drawings onto cotton with Inkodye. My embroidery of botanical forms over the print forces the constructed elements to merge with the natural environment, with the environmental elements overtaking the constructed environments.
